Some things to know before you buy

Pay easily and securely with Credit/Debit card or PAYPAL

Could you please email me first with any questions and to check that the telephone you want is still available. I can also supply more photos of the chosen phone, this would be advisable if the phone has any damage.

I guarantee all parts & labour for 2 years. If you drop the telephone or the dog chews the receiver then I'm afraid you're on your own. Plastic and Bakelite are not very forgiving! Having said that, I can repair a lot of cracks and chips, which, although not invisible up close, will be stable and not noticable at a distance. Just send a photo of the damage for a quote.

I accept payment by cheque or credit/debit card (via the secure PayPal website)

As all the telephones for sale here are old, some well over 50 years, a certain amount of wear and tear is to be expected. None of the telephones will have cracks, splits or deep scratches unless mentioned in the description (and reflected in the price), but there will be surface scratches etc, consistant with their age and use.

To keep the telephones authentic I do not replace the original carbon microphones, unless they are broken. It is possible to exchange these for a modern electronic microphone for improved speech quality for an extra charge (there is provision for this at checkout) so if you spend hours chatting to slightly deaf, aged relatives, then this is probably the best bet for you.

When you buy a phone from me, I will include a reproduction label, printed with your Town/Exchange and number. There are six of these to choose from, to suit the age of the phone.

The 1st is the new style, the others are copies of genuine old label and as such are a bit stained, faded and yellowing and add to the authentic feel of these old telephones - just state LABEL 1 - 6 with your town or exchange and number when ordering.

Label 1              2                 3                 4                5                6

It is advisable that you keep a modern phone as the * or # keys are not available on old telephones.

Converted telephones will work on BT and most other lines(including VIRGIN) and with BROADBAND.  If in doubt please check with your  provider and ask them if they support pulse dial telephones. They will ring and can be answered on all networks in the U.K.

If you live outside the U.K. please note that the prices quoted for postage are for inside the UK and also customs duty may be payable in places outside the EU, which is up to you. Plus other conversions will be required for them to work on other country's telephone systems, so please contact me first for a quote.
